100. Maximum food stamp allotment levels

The U.S. Department of Agriculture every year updates the maximum allotments, deductions, utility allowances, and income eligibility standards at the beginning of each Federal Fiscal Year (FFY), which runs from October 1 through September 30 of each year.

For California-specific rules applicable to Food Stamp program allotments, deductions and income limits and COLA’s, see the most recent All County Information Notice, usually published each year in August or September.

The following are the maximum Food Stamp allotment levels effective October 31, 2013-September 30, 2014 (allotments for October 2013;  allotments for October 1, 2012-September 30, 2013; scroll down for the Disaster Allotment table). The maximum shelter deduction will increase from $469 to $478, and will apply to all households, including those with elderly or disabled members. The standard deduction amount for household sizes one, two, and three will increase from $149 to $152 a month. The chart below is effective 10/1/13.
